DEJARNETTE TRICE,

Attorney at Law

Business, Estate Planning, Intellectual Property, Healthcare Law & Elder Law

Hi, I’m DeJarnette. For over a decade, I worked in various legal and compliance roles in corporate America, including serving as in-house counsel and compliance officer. I helped companies grow their businesses and their national footprint. What does this mean? I have successfully helped companies create and maintain businesses – from negotiating the lease agreement, obtaining appropriate licenses and accreditations, drafting contracts to protect my clients’ interests, mergers and acquisitions, resolving regulatory matters, defending against lawsuits and bad actors, protecting intellectual property rights – you name it and I’ve probably done it.

In 2022, I decided to step out on faith and leave corporate America to forge my own path to help small business owners. Although my skills were acquired at Fortune 500 companies and while serving as counsel to private equity funds, I realize that this same skill set is used to help growing small businesses. One small-town baker buying another bakery is still an acquisition. A makeup artist whose branding and logo help her build her clientele still needs to protect the intellectual property that makes her business unique from competitors. That construction company needs subcontractor agreements to ensure his plumber and electrician are held accountable for their work on the new construction project. I understand that I have a unique skill set – the intersection of business and law. And it’s just as valuable to small business owners as it is to large multi-million-dollar companies. My goal is to be a trusted resource and advocate for you as you grow your businesses and wealth. Let’s create your company, build your brand and properly protect it!

Part of building success and preserving wealth is ensuring that your assets are protected and distributed according to your wishes. Estate planning is the key, and I offer tailored solutions to make this process seamless. Unfortunately, sometimes this critical step remains unfinished, which means you risk having the state intervene on how and to whom your assets are distributed. Instead, let’s create trust fund babies and secure the bag for generations to come!*

A natural extension of estate planning is elder law, which I practice as well. One thing is for sure – if we are living, then we are getting older. As your loved one ages, long-term care, whether in the home or otherwise, may be necessary. How do you navigate through decisions about insurance coverage and the cost of long term care? Elder law helps families answer these questions. Long-term care expenses can easily deplete those funds, with nursing home costs averaging $7,500 or more each month. However, through careful asset protection planning, it may be possible for your loved one to qualify for governmental programs that will pay for long-term healthcare, which means your loved one gets to preserve life savings instead of depleting it on healthcare costs.*

My goal is to help you invest in your life by assisting you with your legal business needs. And I want you to enjoy the fruits of your labor! I also want to assist you with investing in your legacy by ensuring that appropriate legal documents are in place so your assets are distributed as you wish at your passing. Let’s also take care of those who took care of us and honor their legacy in the process. We’re disrupting the norm and changing the game. We’ve got work to do. It’s game time. Let’s go!

It's Game Time.
